The DeVilling Group, Zara Creative Form Strategic Alliance to Provide Media Interview Training

Troy, Mich., May 7, 2013 – The DeVilling Group, a public relations and marketing communications firm, and Zara Creative, a cinematic video production company, have announced a strategic alliance to provide media training services for business executives who want to improve their media interview and public presentation skills. The announcement was made by Mike DeVilling, president of The DeVilling Group and Heather Zara, Co-Owner of Zara Creative.

“Every media interview is an opportunity for an executive to tell their organization’s story in an effective and powerful manner,” DeVilling said. “Like anything else in life, getting the most out of a media interview takes hard work and preparation. The training we provide helps executives ensure success in interview situations.”

The DeVilling/Zara media training includes background information on how to work with different media types, what to do and what not to do, and how to use key messages to powerfully convey an organization’s story. It also includes videotaped practice interviews and critiques to give executives hands on practice in real media situations.

Zara is an Emmy Award winning broadcast journalist with nearly a decade of experience as a reporter and anchor - mainly known for her work with WDIV, Local 4 in Detroit. She also has worked on air at FOX 2 Detroit, WWJ News Radio 950, Michigan State University and WLAJ in Lansing. Prior to launching Zara Creative in 2011, she was a reporter with the Detroit Pistons, producing content for pistons.com and Fox Sports Detroit. She also provides media training services to the Michigan State University football program.

DeVilling is a former print journalist with nearly 25 years of media relations consulting experience. He has provided media training for organizations such as the North American International Auto Show, R. L. Polk & Co., Experian Automotive, University of Phoenix, cars.com, Quicken Loans/Rock Financial and K-Mart Corporation.
